1450 Layer Pattern Welded Viking Dagger

This is not only Matt's first pattern welded piece,
but it is BKS' first 1000+ layer blade.
It features riveted wrought Iron and brass fittings
with deer antler handle and wrought spacer bead.
The outer lobes of the tri-lobe pommel are bronze skulls.
The inner lobe is a custom wrought iron capture nut that holds it all together.

The inspiration for this piece came from the great viking named Thorfinn Hausakluif.
Thorfinn was the 7th Viking Earl of Orkney and was better known as "Skull Splitter".
